Blood Drive

May 5th, 2017

A string of tornadoes in Northeast Texas had already drawn down the area’s blood supply when a paramedic was critically wounded by a gunman on Monday. Carter BloodCare rushed 100 units of blood to Dallas after the May 1 shooting. The available supply of Type O-negative blood, in particular, is critically low.

The next blood drive at JPS will be Friday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the OPC Auditorium, on the third floor of the Main Hospital at 1500 S. Main St.

Walk-ins are welcome. Blood donors can also sign up in advance to reserve an appointment time. Donors must bring a state-issued I.D. (not just your JPS badge.)

Blood donors can collect points toward Carter BloodCare rewards, including gift cards and merchandise. All donors receive a free T shirt.
