2/27/2009

In an effort to best address patient needs, physician and employee satisfaction, JPS President and CEO Robert Earley made changes to the organization’s executive team today. Earley named Interim Chief Operating Officer Bill Whitman to the position permanently. “Bill joins the organization with more than 20 years of health care experience and brings significant benefit to our Network,” Earley said.

Additional changes include national searches for the Network’s Chief Financial Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, Vice President of Human Resources and Vice President of Government Affairs. Randy Rogers, who serves as the Interim Chief Financial Officer will continue to serve in that role until the completion of the search.  Interim Positions will be named for both the Chief Nursing Officer and the Vice President of Human Resources until the positions are filled. Earley will assume the duties of the Vice President of Government Affairs during the search.

Whitman joined JPS three months ago. He has served in executive roles at Texas Health Resources and Harris Methodist Hospital. His responsibilities include oversight of the Network’s operations. “It is imperative that our public hospitals run efficiently and provide excellent service to patients. I look forward to working with this team to achieve the Network’s goals,” Whitman said. Whitman has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin and holds a Master of Science degree from Trinity University in San Antonio.

JPS is the tax-supported health care system for Tarrant County. The organization has more than 4,500 employees and includes two hospitals and forty locations.
