Wanda Peebles, Executive Vice President, Acute Care, Chief Nurse Executive
Wanda Peebles is the executive vice president and chief nurse executive at JPS Health Network, the only level one Trauma Center in Tarrant County.
Peebles joined JPS in 2011 as the Vice President of Perioperative Services and became the Chief Nursing Officer in 2012. In that role she was responsible for more than 2000 nurses across the network. Under her leadership, JPS adopted patient- and family-centered care as its approach to care delivery and achieved Pathways to Excellence designation from the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC). In her newest role as the Chief Nurse Executive, she is responsible for elevating nursing practice across JPS Health Network including inpatient, community health, behavioral health and procedural settings. She continuously collaborates with fellow executive leaders to ensure JPS caregivers embody the organization’s culture, vision and values.
Prior to joining JPS Wanda had many years of healthcare leadership experience from health systems in Florida and Alabama where she served as a vice president and chief nursing officer. In those roles she was responsible for clinical, operational and financial leadership for nursing and clinical inpatient and outpatient services.
Wanda is a registered nurse and received her bachelor degree from the University of St. Francis in addition to a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in healthcare. She has received several honors and awards throughout her nursing career such as the Outstanding Nurse Leader Award from JPS Health Network, Great 100 Nurse in Dallas Fort Worth and is a member of the Honor Society of Nursing - Sigma Theta Tau International.
Her nursing career has been dedicated to creating high quality, reliable systems of care and developing the next generation of nurses and health care professionals to lead in these ever-changing times.
