Thank you for your interest in training with us at John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth. We believe our residency training program provides the foundation for an exceptional career in Emergency Medicine. We take pride in caring for our patients in a county safety net environment while providing exceptional care.
We are fortunate to have over 130,000 patient encounters annually that graciously provide the substrate for learning. Serving as the only level-1 trauma center in Fort Worth, we have a large catchment area that leads to a wide variety of traumatic pathology.
In addition to our robust trauma experience, we see patients who have not had longitudinal care and arrive with an advanced clinical presentation of their disease process that is unrivaled in most emergency departments across the country. In addition to an emphasis on bed-side learning in a high-volume, hands-on emergency department, we emphasize high-yield didactic training. When we are in the classroom, we utilize a systems-based curriculum combined with simulation to provide the tools needed to care for our patients.
Choosing where to get your training in Emergency Medicine is an important decision. We believe, combining our volume, pathology, and an innovative didactic curriculum is a right recipe for success.
