The Community Health Education team is here to increase your knowledge and promote healthier lifestyle choices. Classes are available in English and Spanish. Certain classes have a virtual option. For more information, call JPS Community Health Education at 817-702-7300 (press option 2).

Car Seat Safety
Parents and caregivers will learn how to safely use and install a car seat from a certified child passenger safety technician. Participants must meet certain requirements in order to obtain car seat.

 

Chronic Kidney Disease
Learn how to prevent the progression of chronic kidney disease from leading to kidney failure. Topics covered are self-management, treatment options, and nutrition.

 

Diabetes
The diabetes education program is a two-part series where you will learn the basics of diabetes and how to control your blood sugar through lifestyle modifications. Topics covered are healthy eating, exercise, medications, and glucometer use.

 

Gestational Diabetes
Learn how to maintain a healthy pregnancy while having gestational diabetes. Topics covered are glucose targets, medication therapy, lifestyle modifications, and nutrition. Glucometer and insulin training offered during class. Follow-up scheduled with gestational diabetes educator to monitor glucose log.

 

Heart Failure
The heart failure program is a three-part series that covers symptom management, nutrition, and medications.

 

Hypertension
Learn how to manage your high blood pressure and how diet and a healthy lifestyle can prevent long-term effects.

 

Tobacco Cessation
JPS Health Network is in partnership with Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) to offer free tobacco cessation classes. The Live Tobacco Free Program is a series of classes that can done in person or virtually. You will get the tools and knowledge you need to Live Tobacco Free for yourself and your family.
