Sesane Sok, Patient Access Representative

Sesane Sok

Sesane Sok had been doing hair on the side when she decided to pursue a job in healthcare. She is a Patient Access Representative at JPS Medical Home Southeast Tarrant. She started there in 2017.

“I wanted a job where I could grow and learn different fields. I love what I do today,” she said.

During her shift, she greets and checks in patients for their visit, confirms patient appointments, and sometimes uses her language skills when conversing with patients from Cambodia. The location is busy and can serve 400 to 500 patients a day. A medical home provides primary care services as well as pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, dental, and behavioral health services.

“We do a lot of same day appointments and I do what I can to get the patients what they need,” she said. “It feels good to be able to help them because if they are asking for a same day appointment, they are sick.”

While at JPS, she has learned a lot, such as new computer skills, procedures for handling patients sick with COVID-19, and how to work hand-in-hand with the different departments at the clinic.

The opportunity to help others is the best part of her job.

“I love to help patients. My coworkers have been great to me. We help each other. We are family-oriented,” she said.
