Louis Levy Symposium on Arthroplasty

Annual JPS Trauma symposium

About the Louis Levy Symposium on Arthroplasty

The Dr. Louis J. Levy Symposium was established in 1990 to honor Dr. Levy’s lifelong dedication to orthopaedic education. A pioneer in the field, he played a key role in shaping the orthopaedic surgery residency program at John Peter Smith Hospital, where he served for more than 25 years. His legacy continues through this annual event, which brings together surgeons, residents, and community partners to advance orthopaedic knowledge and training.

The 2026 Louis J. Levy Symposium will focus on orthopaedic arthroplasty, a critical area of care centered on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of hip and knee conditions through advanced joint replacement procedures. This year’s keynote speaker, an experienced arthroplasty surgeon with more than 30 years in adult reconstructive surgery, will share insights on the latest advancements, emerging challenges, and innovations shaping the future of hip and knee replacement care.

The 2026 Louis Levy Symposium on Arthroplasty will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
