JPS Again Named Top Place to Work by Modern Healthcare

JPS Health Network

For a second consecutive year, Modern Healthcare has named JPS Health Network as one of the best places in the United States to work.

“JPS Health Network is thrilled to be among the recipients of the 2018 Best Places to Work honors,” President and CEO Robert Earley said. “It is wonderful to let taxpayers and our community know they support a public healthcare system of which they can be incredibly proud.”

The designation is no small accomplishment, according to leadership of the magazine. With unemployment at its lowest point in nearly two decades, it’s a highly-competitive market in which to attract – and keep -- the best workers in any field, including healthcare.

“With unemployment dipping below 4% for the first time since December 2000, employers have their work cut out for them to keep workers happy,” Modern Healthcare leaders said. “Organizations making this year's list of Best Places to Work in Healthcare stand out in their efforts to create an empowered and satisfied workforce.”

A ranked order of the top providers will be revealed Sept. 27 at the Modern Healthcare’s Workplace of the Future Conference to be held in Dallas. The best places to work will also be featured in a special supplement published in the Oct. 1 issue of Modern Healthcare. A total of 150 organizations made the list, 75 healthcare providers and insurers and 75 suppliers.

“Whether on the frontline or in the top office, healthcare employees witness moments that can either inspire or dishearten them. That can take a toll on an individual and healthcare organizations must take extra steps to ensure that highs and lows during the workday don’t impact engagement or performance,” said Modern Healthcare Editor Aurora Aguilar. “This year’s best places to work, voted on by the employees themselves, exemplify what it takes to maintain dedication and satisfaction among its employees and that is the key to good patient care. Congratulations to this year’s winners and we look forward to celebrating with you in September.”

In 2017, JPS finished 51st nationwide on Modern Healthcare’s list of top healthcare providers and insurers. According to the magazine, team members at the health network cited employee events including the Hospital Week carnival, the employee talent show and an annual event where leaders distribute hams, turkeys or fruit baskets to team members on Thanksgiving.
