The Healthcare Administrative Fellowship is a 12-month rotational program designed to provide qualified candidates with a unique opportunity to learn and grow as a healthcare professional under the leadership and guidance of experienced leaders.

Qualifications:
- Candidates who have earned an MHA, MBA (with an emphasis on healthcare management), or MPH from a CAHME, AACSB, or CEPH accredited program by the start of the fellowship.
- Candidates must be recent graduates within the last 12 months of the start of the fellowship.
- At least one year of applicable healthcare experience, which can be obtained through internships or other related work

- A 500-word essay describing your career aspirations and how completing this Fellowship would contribute to your goals
Please note: Late and/or incomplete applications will not be considered, and applicants from unaccredited programs are automatically disqualified.
- Candidates selected for interviews will undergo a virtual first-round interview.
- Those selected to move forward will be invited to an on-campus interview.
- Interviews will take place in late August through September, with decisions announced in early October.
Rotational Experiences
- The Healthcare Administrative Fellowship provides broad exposure to the diverse functions of a large, academic health system. Throughout the program, fellows participate in a series of rotational experiences designed to deepen their understanding of healthcare operations, leadership, strategy, and organizational priorities.
- Rotation assignments are individualized based on organizational needs, available learning opportunities, and the fellow's professional interests and development goals. Experiences may include clinical, operational, administrative, financial, quality, and strategic areas across the health system, providing fellows with a comprehensive perspective on healthcare leadership.
Capstone Project
- In addition to rotational experiences, fellows complete a longitudinal capstone project that addresses a strategic organizational priority. Working closely with executive sponsors and subject matter experts, fellows apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program to develop, implement, and present a meaningful project that contributes to the mission and goals of JPS Health Network.
When does the Fellowship program begin?
- The program runs from June through May. Additional onboarding information will be provided to selected candidates following acceptance
Will I have a mentor during the fellowship?
- Yes. Fellows are paired with executive leaders who provide mentorship, career guidance, and professional development throughout the fellowship. Fellows also build relationships with leaders across the organization through rotational experiences and networking opportunities.
What professional development opportunities are included?
- In addition to rotational experiences, fellows participate in networking events, leadership development activities, mentorship opportunities, organizational meetings, and a longitudinal capstone project designed to strengthen their leadership and healthcare administration skills.
What kinds of jobs can fellows expect to get after they complete the fellowship?
- Fellowship alumni have gone on to pursue a variety of leadership and administrative roles, including Project Manager, Program Manager, Administrative Director, and Business Operations Manager, both within JPS and across the healthcare industry.
Is employment at JPS guaranteed after the fellowship?
- No. While many fellows pursue opportunities within JPS following the fellowship, employment is not guaranteed. The fellowship is designed to prepare graduates for leadership opportunities both within JPS and across the healthcare industry.
